THE SONGS OF SONNY KEYES

I've been writing songs since my six-year-old fingers could find the notes that matched the tune in my head. As a member of The Kings, I cut my teeth on power-pop and rock 'n' roll, but when I wrote my own songs, they came out quite different from that, (I co-wrote The Kings' soft-rock hit "If We Don't Belong Together") so I pursued covers outside The Kings. 

After producing music for every format except music radio for twenty years, I decided it was time to do proper recordings of my own songs, and along the way a funny thing happened: more and more of my songs started coming out country, and I realized that country music and I had been on a slow collision course all my life. I love the narrative lyrics and the singable melodies, and country music is where my heart is now.
